3D Content Development

An Optimized Process for Augmented Reality 3D Content

As an integral component of the YOUReality AR experience, 3D content is carefully created to achieve the highest quality and maximum scalability. Every individual piece of 3D content is carefully vetted through a rigid set of parameters that have been developed by YOUReality for the sole specific purpose of integration with the visualization tools. Not only do these internal processes create consistent results across platforms and content types, they have resulted in a predictable cost structure and man-hours.

YOUReality 3D content begins from one of two sources; created from client's 2D source documents or working with client's 3D manufacturing models. In both cases YOUReality employs industry standard design software solutions from Autodesk. As the industry leader in design software platforms, Autodesk products allows for YOUReality to quickly scale up manpower by pulling from the well established multi-million-user base. In addition, Autodesk products recognize the majority of other design platform data, allowing YOUReality to work with clients' data in a quick, efficient, and predictable manner.

Source Files Accepted

The following file types are accepted by YOUReality as source files for 3D content development, in order of preference.

  1. .DWG (Native AutoCAD)
  2. .MAX Native 3D Max
  3. .FBX
  4. .3DS or .OBJ
  5. .STL

All of the above are usable, but the further down the list, the more manipulation our 3D development team needs to do to the models to get them within proper technological parameters for the AR software. Please contact us for details.

Standalone 3D Content Development

Outside of creating 3D content for YOUReality AR solutions, we can create 3D models as a standalone product offering. As more and more design firms migrate to BIM (Building Information Model) design processes, product manufacturers are beginning to rebuild their catalogs to include BIM components. These BIM product catalogs are distributed to the individual design firms and allow for a designer to specify a manufacturer's product during the design phase. These types of tools and BIM components extend manufacturers a competitive edge and result in increased sales and profits.
